The Oromo Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kansas City, Missouri congregation hold their worship services at Christ Lutheran Church in Platte Woods, Missouri. The Oromo people are the native inhabitants of Ethiopia, and the largest ethnic group in Eastern Africa.

The Oromo Evangelical Lutheran Church children are very active and participate alongside the Christ Lutheran children in various educational opportunities such as Vacation Bible School (VBS,) Sunday School, and Weekday School as well as many social events.

Pastor Abdi Megerssa and Singer Feven Itana are married and have a 19 year old son and 15 year old daughter who attends Martin Lutheran Academy. They truly believe in the word of God and very happy to serve at this very place.
